Knight's Bridge Winery
John Bailey
After completing a degree in Political Science and History at Harvard University in 2015, John Bailey worked alongside Doctors Without Borders in Lesvos, Greece teaching English and instituting a sports program at a camp for child refugees. Upon returning from Greece, he spent four years in investment consulting and real estate in New York City before deciding to join his family at Knights Bridge Winery as a Brand Ambassador. The youngest of four boys, John has fond memories of lively conversations around the dinner table accompanied by wine, while growing up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His dad and uncles instilled a passion for exploring the great wine growing regions of the world, and for bringing friends together over a bottle of wine, alongside good food.
While at Harvard University, John was a member of the Harvard Swim team and was named an All-American distance swimmer. Although school and sports kept him busy, John enrolled in a wine seminar at Harvard, further sparking his desire to learn more. Trips west to California to visit the Knights Valley vineyard piqued an interest in the family business and led him to accept the offer of a position with the winery in early 2021. Eager to learn from the ground up, John very clearly shares in his father Jim Bailey’s energy and charisma. When not welcoming visitors to the stunning Knights Bridge estate, John serves as the winery’s US sales ambassador, while also shadowing his father and uncles, gleaning wisdom and experience. With the new winery set to open in fall of 2021, John is committed to continuing the vision of exceptional quality into the future.
In his spare time, John enjoys sharing wine with friends, surfing, cycling, running, and motorcycling his way up and down the north Sonoma Coast.
