Chef Erin Miller

Chef & Owner of Urban Hearth

Chef Erin Miller joins the decorated lineage of women chefs in Cambridge, MA and is proud to count Urban Hearth among the small number of acclaimed woman-owned and led restaurants in the Boston area.

Classically trained at the French Culinary Institute of New York, Erin draws from her years of industry experience in New York restaurants (including Dan Barber’s Blue Hill), her entrepreneurial skills running a culinary event company and her extensive instructional experience to create a unique dining experience.

Since opening Urban Hearth, Erin has nurtured the 24-seat restaurant into one of Boston’s most celebrated contemporary American dining destinations. Lauded as Boston’s Best Farm-to-Table Restaurant and consistently ranked among the Top 50 Restaurants; Urban Hearth is renowned for its thoughtfully crafted, seasonal cuisine, its charming ambiance and high level of hospitality, capturing the hearts of diners across New England.

Selected as a 2025 James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef Northeast, Erin continues to garner national recognition. She is a two time winner of the Great American Seafood Cook-Off, where she claimed the first-ever Queen of Seafood title for Massachusetts. She has showcased her culinary expertise at prestigious events like the James Beard Taste of America, Nantucket Wine & Food Festival and Outstanding in the Field and has been featured on prominent platforms such as the Food Network, Travel & Leisure, Forbes, Wine Enthusiast, Edible Boston, ABC, NBC, and CBS.

Throughout her career, Erin has been guided by a simple principle that there is much to be learned and joy to be had when we gather around the table. She diligently applies this philosophy beyond the dining table to her relationships with local farmers and producers, her team, and her community, bringing responsibility and care to every step in the food system.

Erin lives in Cambridge, MA with her husband and two teenage sons. When not in the kitchen, she spends time hiking, foraging and traveling. Her recent adventures include walking the length of Hadrian’s Wall in England and a deep dive into all things koji. For more information please visit: https://www.urbanhearth.net/
