TOMMASO MISTRETTA

Tommaso is a wine professional and certified sommelier trained by the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS). He has extensive expertise in Italian wines while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of wine regions all over the world.

Born and raised in Florence, Italy, he began his career in business operations, providing consulting and accounting services for a diverse portfolio of clients from various industries – from wine production to hospitality, and transportation to pharma. These experiences honed his skills in operational efficiency and client relations. But his most important influence has always been his culture and his family, who for generations worked as food artisans. With a grandmother who spent her career as a gelato maker and a father who worked as a baker with a passion and deep knowledge of wine, Tommaso was raised by those who exemplified the dedication and sacrifice required for quality products. For this reason, he values and appreciates all things handmade.

A fairytale love story brought Tommaso to the U.S. in 2019, and this major life change gave him the courage to pivot from a career in professional services to one driven by passion – one that would connect him to the culture and traditions of his beloved country. His intention has always been to help wine lovers create memories, transforming any moment into one that unifies people over food and wine. He was able to do this in previous roles as Wine Buyer at Whole Foods Market and Fine Wine Sales Representative for a small importer of exclusive Italian wines. Today, he continues to pursue this aspiration in his dream job as Director of Italian Wines for Horizon Beverage.
